Greets!

The servos included with my Picar B are crap. Read about it, watched videos about it, heard about it. The gears strip easy, they do not center properly, etc.

But I LOVE my Picar B. So what can I do?

Well, I want to replace the servos with a higher grade, metal geared version. Has anyone done this with the Picar B? Obviously I am looking for a drop-in replacement, but seldom does the mounts match up. I am hoping to get close and modify the mounts to accomodate.

Any suggestions?

No knock on the kit. It's awesome and includes a lot. Except for the front end steering, the kit is well designed. Except for the servos. They suck and in my opinion the worst servos Adeept could have picked for this kit build. I just want to upgrade my $100 USD kit to be something it should have been out of the design room.

Thanks for listening!!!

Oh no, that is not necessary. They are working, just not the quality that I want so I want to upgrade to metal geared servos. You guys did a GREAT job with this kit and I realize you had to keep the costs down. Under normal use, the included servos would be just fine I am sure.

I certainly appreciate your offer though. If one should break, they are cheap enough to where I can buy one. No worries.

And I meant no offense and after reading my post, it was a little harsh. I just speak what I think when it comes to hardware.

I do have another problem though, and I will post it in another thread.

THANK YOU!

Hello friend, When you used servos with metal geared, can you see a difference? Is the header robot is more stable?

Hi,
have you already tried replacing the 'Tower Pro micro SG90' gears with the 'Tower Pro Micro Servo MG90S' ? they use metal gears and are probably more stable and usable. They are not much more expensive (SFR 6.5 instead of SFR 4.5)

Check on HobbyKing.com, hundreds of metal gear servos, I buy them all the time for my model aeroplanes.

Did you notice a change when you utilized servos that were gearted with metal?
