  • By32 Channel PWM Drive not working as expected
  • Jan 05, 2018
Regarding the description and wrong mounting, my description was correct in any step, but the black parts and dark blue servos give me sometimes a bad contrast, so you have to be very careful. The overview of each mounting step is a good idea to check, if you have the mounting step done well.

The Adeept 32 Channel PWM Drive V1.0 with two 18650 Lithium-Batteries (mine had ~ 8,3V full loaded) leads during the switch on to a "short cut situation" where the DC/DC converter GS2678 together PWM controller and about 6-7 attached servos came into a shortcut state (power supply voltage brakes down to ~ 2V) and do never get out! With all 19 servos attached to the "32 Channel PWM Drive" the voltage status LEDs on the board and the Arduino board reflect this by doing not light.

A possible workaround was a small circuit (resistor in parallel a p-MOS-FET and a RC) to limit the switch-on current to get the "32 Channel PWM Drive" working. I did not discover the real reason of the fault in the circuit as I have not the right equipment available, for someone without knowledge about electronics this is a no-go.

Additional the mounting of the "32 Channel PWM Drive" on the Arduino board could lead to a shortcut between some soldered pins of  "32 Channel PWM Drive" and the metal case of the RJ45 or the PINs on the other end of the Arduino board.

Finally there is still a problem with provided software also not working as shown in the video to get the hexpod moving via remote control. But this might be only a software / flashing problem I have to try again.
